Bring the dogs to Staithes
You've been meaning to get away.
The dogs have been meaning to get out.
Heart Stone Cottage is a little fisherman's cottage in the old village of Staithes, on the North Yorkshire coast. It is dog-friendly, and it means it.
The rules, plainly
Up to three small dogs, or one large one.
Downstairs only, please — the bedrooms stay dog-free.
Just tell us about them when you book.
That is it. No extra hoops.
Walking starts at the door
Harbour, beach, pubs, cafés — all within walking distance.
The Cleveland Way runs straight through the village.
Boots on. Lead on. Out.
Being straight with you
Staithes is an old fishing village, and the old village sits down a steep bank.
Parking is at the top of it, so there is a walk down, and a walk back up.
There are steps, inside and out.
The little outdoor area is not enclosed, so dogs need a lead out there.
None of that is a problem. We would just rather you knew before you packed.
What is inside
- Two bedrooms. Sleeps 4.
- One double, and twin beds up in the loft.
- Log burner.
- Wi-Fi.
- Shower.
- Smart TV.
- A washing machine, which matters more than you think after a wet walk.
- Two nights minimum.
About the cottage
Andrea and her son Shayne took it back to brick. Their first renovation together.
It is not a hotel. It is a proper old fisherman's cottage that somebody looks after.
Two nights minimum. Have a look at the dates.
