Packing for Staithes?
Here’s what we’d throw in the car.
Most of it you’ll already have.
Already at the cottage
- Wi-Fi
- A log burner
- A shower and a washing machine
- A Smart TV
Bring a good book anyway.
For the beach
- A quick-dry microfibre beach towel – light, and dry by the time you’re back up the bank.
- A sandcastle set – for the little ones. And the big ones.
- A pop-up sun tent – shade for babies and toddlers on bright days.
For the walks
- Good shoes. The bank is steep and there are steps.
- Waterproofs. It’s the Yorkshire coast.
- An OS Explorer map – for walks along the coast and up onto the North York Moors.
- A reusable water bottle – for the cliff paths and the beach.
For the dogs
- A lead. The cliff paths have edges.
- An old towel for sandy paws.
- Their bed and a favourite toy, so they settle in fast.
Dogs stay downstairs. Up to three small or one large. More on our dog-friendly page.
Then just turn up
Stick the fire on. Put the kettle on.
You’re on holiday.
